No time, no time

I knelt to pray but not for long

I had too much to do

I had to hurry and get to work

For the bills would soon be due

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer

And jumped up of my knees

My Muslim duty was now done

My soul could rest at ease

All day long I had no time

To spread a word of cheer

No time to speak of Allah to friends

They’d laugh at me was my fear

No time, no time, too much to do

That was my constant cry

No time to give to souls in need

But at last the time came, the time to die

I went before my lord, with hope

I stood there with downcast eyes

And there was an angel holding a book

It was a book of blessed lives

He looked into his book and said

“Your name I cannot find”

I once was going to write it down

But unfortunately never found time…

Have a belief

Thumbnail_160x88

Have a belief that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go.Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right. You believe less so you can eventually learn to trust no one but yourself. And sometimes good things fall apart so that better things can fall together

Following comments

I am blogging on wordpress since February this year. Though initially it took me some time to get used to the interface but once I knew about everything, it was very easy to use wordpress features. One of the features that I really like in wordpress is that it has a ‘My Comments’ option. You can check if there has been any replies to the threads you wrote any comments for. It keeps you updated on what everyone thinks about your point of view, and also if anyone has asked questions related to your replies. Following up after your comment becomes easy.

I haven’t used Blogspot a lot but does anyone know if there is any ‘My Comment’ feature here as well that allows me to follow up my comments and see if anyone else replied to my comments? Google has lots of gadgets available and new gadgets can also be made and uploaded, but I’m not sure if some work on this ‘My comments’ feature has already been done or not…

Unanswered thoughts

There are times when we find ourselves in situations where we have to decide if our own selves get priority over others. Others who are not just others, they are people whom we respect, whom we trust, whom we care for, and worst of all, whom we have expectations with. Naturally, those people also have some expectations from us. Expectations that they’ll be happy if we’ll share our happiness with them, expectations that we won’t say things to them that might make them feel hurt, expectations that we can ping them whenever we want to, and that the other person would feel elated to see us pinging them even at odd times. That’s exactly where we don’t realize, and prioritize our selves over those whom we “care” for.

But is it really “care” if we share our feelings with our loved ones? If it is, how can “selfishness” be different than “caring”? How can you not be selfish if you’re making them worried about you, that too only so that you could feel better, only so that you could get care in return? But doesn’t it make all these relations so selfish? You respect so that you could get respect in return. You love so that you could get love back in return. And besides, what does love give to the person you love. You only love for your own self. What does the other person get? But then who is to be blamed for all this game of selfishness? For all this game of prioritizing one’s self over others in the name of care and love? Is it the one who initiated love or the one who falls for the trap in reply to the initiator? Do they both do it for their own self?

Lost life!

The 2nd time 1st…

Confusing as it can get :-). Actually, this is my first post here on this blog, but it is the second time I am writing a first post. The first time I wrote my first post was on my Wordpress blog. Actually, as far as I remember, I published my first post both at wordpress as well as blogspot, but the first comment I got was on wordpress, so I continued with wordpress from there on. Thats a nice criteria isn’t it :-).

One of my friends suggested the wordpress blog to me because he was using it for quiet some time. He told me its features and all, although blogging was totally a different world to me. That was when that friend of mine and I decided to run a combined blog on wordpress, which, frankly speaking, I never wrote any post for :-P. But that’s how I got an account on wordpress. I had a google account as well, so when I signed in to blogspot, I came to know I already had an account with them. So there was a time I had two blog accounts without even one single post.

But then I started to write. Actually, I didn’t start to write, I only wrote one post, and published it to both the blogs. That post was about my niece Muneeba, which by far is the best post (I think) I have written so far. For the next four months, I only had this one post published on both of my blogs. I got an occasional comment every month or so. But February 2009 it was, when I felt the urge to write. That was the start of it.

Now I feel addicted to my blogs. I miss my blog if I dont sign in to it at least once every day. My blogspot blog was sitting idle, so I thought about giving it a chance as well. Actually, I wanted to give myself a chance of trying to maintain two blogs. Lets see if I can do justice to both of my blogs. Lets see if I get addicted to both of my blogs or if even my wordpress blog starts seeing less of me… I hope I continue to update both of my blogs Insha-Allah.

One important questions that needs answering. Well, I’m not sure if that question is important or not, but anyways, I'll still answer it… This blog will probably contain all sorts of material in it. From social issues to poetry to books to my observations to jokes and what not. Although I do plan to devote this blog for some special content but that I'm leaving for sometime later.

I hope you all enjoy reading this blog Insha-Allah. To subscribe to this blog in some reader, you can copy and paste this feed url: http://feeds.feedburner.com/amarbail-blogspot (You can also find this link on the right side under the heading "Subscribe in a reader")
